Lyndsey Rosevear
Chair

Lyndsey is currently doing field work for the non-profit organization she founded in Nicaragua while organizing the summit in Vancouver. Lyndsey graduated from the University of Calgary with a BA in International Relations and will be graduating with an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies from the Austrian-based European University Centre for Peace and Conflict this March. She has spent summers fighting forest fires in B.C. working all over the province while being flown to work in a helicopter. Lyndsey enjoys running and playing basketball and looks forward to challenging Steve Giron soon! Lyndsey was the Canadian Minister of Defense in Milan 2009 which sparked her interest in the G8 Youth Summit network and is excited to be part of a great team in organizing the event in Vancouver 2010!
Peter Lee
Director of Finance

Peter is currently finishing his BA in Political Science and International Relations from the University of British Columbia. Peter has worked as a Research Assistant with the National University of Singapore's Asia Research Institute, and as a Junior Trade Commissioner for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada. He also represented Canada as the Minister of Economy in the 2009 G8 Youth Summit in Milan, Italy. Determined to become fluent in a third language, Peter plans to take a gap year before pursuing law school to focus on learning French. He looks forward to meeting everyone at the 2010 G8/G20 Youth Summit, and can't wait to showcase his beloved hometown of Vancouver!
Sachi Lovatt
Secretary

Sachi graduated in 2009 from McGill University with a BA in Political Science and minor in Italian Language & Literature. She was a delegate at the 2008 G8 Youth Summit in Yokohama as the German Minister of Defense. After the Summit in Japan she co-founded YFID and helped recruit the 2009 Canadian delegation sent to Milan. Sachi has been keen internationally, having lived and worked in Japan, Italy and Canada, as well as lead a volunteer trip to Ghana. She speaks English, French, Japanese and Italian, and has beginner knowledge of German. She is excited to continue her participation with YFID this year and to help organize the Summit in Vancouver!
Kevin Hong
Recruitment

Kuok Kei is originally from Macau Special Administrative Region. He is currently finishing his degree in urban planning at the University of Waterloo, with a minor in political science. He participated in the G8 Youth Summit 2009 in Milan, Italy as the Minister of Environment for Mexico. He has worked in the field of urban planning with municipal and provincial governments, including Town of Richmond Hill, Brampton Transit, Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Edmonton Public School Board. In his free time, he is a competitive volleyball/beach volleyball player and he enjoys different arts and music scenes. Kuok Kei would like to practice urban planning or sustainable development in a developing country sometime in the future.
Allison Louie
Logistics

Allison is in her last year of undergraduate studies, double-majoring in International Relations and Psychology. She participated in the 2008 Yokohama G8 Youth Summit as Minister of Labour, and has since helped to establish YFID as well as work on the YFID team to organize and coordinate the Canadian delegation. Allison is currently researching post-traumatic growth in child soldiers and finds human resilience a fascinating matter indeed. She especially admires creative solutions and loves volunteering – currently doing so at a children’s foundation, an AIDS organization, a psychology lab, and a faith community. She’s excited about meeting 140 new people at the 2010 Vancouver Summit!
Steven Giron
Fundraising

Steven graduated from the University of Manitoba majoring in Political Studies with a minor in Business Management. He participated in the G8 Youth Summit 2008 in Yokohama, Japan as the Minister of Internal Affairs for Canada. He is very active in his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he volunteers with several non-profit organizations and local conferences. He has also participated in a Canadian youth economic trade mission to Mexico in 2003.
Wayne Fan
G20 Recruitment Coordinator/ Advising Director

Wayne studied criminology at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and global politics at the London School of Economics (LSE). Wayne has helped to organize immigration conferences for Citizenship and Immigration Canada and conducted research projects on human trafficking for Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. He was part of the G8 Youth Summit in Berlin and Yokohama. As well, he is a co-founder of YouthCan for International Dialogue, the non-profit organization that organizes the G8/G20 Youth Summit in Canada.
